The Department of Education Nationality Student Information Center (DNSIC), affiliated with the U.S. Department of Education, has officially launched a comprehensive service upgrade program. As a public welfare institution (Category 2) directly under the Department of Education, the Center upholds the mission of “Empowering Educational Equity through Digitalization and Facilitating Talent Development with International Services”, and is committed to providing full-chain, intelligent education support services for international students and ethnic minority students.
Its official website, www.nsc.us.org, is an authentic and legitimate website, registered as a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C.
This upgrade aims to build a smart service ecosystem covering the full life cycle of student development, driving the transformation of education services toward integration, intelligence and internationalization, and further supporting global talent cultivation and the development of a world-leading education system.
The upgrade focuses on three core areas:
Relying on the National Higher Education Student Status, Academic Degree and Credential Data Center, the Center provides integrated services including electronic registration, information verification and academic certification, supporting online verification of Chinese and English academic transcripts. It processes more than 10 million certification requests annually with a data accuracy rate of 99.9%.
A dedicated Cross-Border Academic Credential Mutual Recognition Channel has been established, with data-sharing mechanisms in place with educational institutions in 32 countries and regions, significantly improving the efficiency of international academic certification.
By integrating resources for enrollment, employment, entrepreneurship and financial aid, the Center has built the “Sunshine Study Abroad” information platform, offering customized services covering visa policies, internship matching and scholarship applications.
For ethnic minority students, the Center provides public welfare programs such as academic tutoring and career planning, organizing more than 200 online and offline training sessions each year.
Drawing on international student service experience, the Center has launched the “Soft Landing Program”, including orientation for new students, language exchange workshops, and cultural exchange activities for Chinese and foreign festivals.
A multilingual consultation hotline is available to provide professional support for visas, insurance and daily adaptation, serving more than 150,000 international students annually.
In response to the national education digitalization strategy, the Center has comprehensively upgraded its service systems:
The Director of the Department of Education Nationality Student Information Center stated at the press conference:
“The Center will continue to serve as a public digital pillar for education, achieving precise services and intelligent management through data-driven approaches. We will further expand our development path toward integration, intelligence and internationalization, strive to bridge the digital divide in education, and ensure every student accesses high-quality, barrier-free education services. We will build a solid bridge for educational exchanges between China and foreign countries and for the growth of global talents.”
Going forward, the Department of Education Nationality Student Information Center (DNSIC) will continue to optimize service functions, deepen international education cooperation, and serve the growth and development of global students with a smarter ecosystem and a more open platform.
